Being natural depends on how skilled you are from day-1 of the craft.Natural Instinct diverges from the point you are exposed to the craft and is heavily influenced by the context surrounding your life. Persisting the roots of natural instincts is the skill one need to acquire for peaceful life. Education gives the potential to pursue any form of the craft. Its the consistent mastery over time empowers individuals to achieve their highest vision. If persons genius elements align naturally or through hours of practice then the struggle is about getting things done by people. Otherwise be my guest.
Let's look from software engineers vision, I am scribbling from the general experience stemming from my favourite buddies, myself and the people I have chosen to study. Bear with my eastern experience for time being till we delve in to other horizons. Influence starts from the recruitment process and has a deep impact on ones career. Going back to a point in time where the prerequisites to enter in to Software Engineering is about having a decent education qualification. During that era, Instinct is easily influenced by the people around them. During mass hiring when absorbing graduates, majority of the recruiters demonstrate the company portfolio and usually person from greater hierarchy talks about the growth and vision. This creates an early visual impact
on the fantasies of the growth in this field. Some recruiters show the team collaboration events. Human resources round was clearly a joke if you fail in this phase after a successful technical capability assessment. Some succeeds to secure a place and some become hunters to explore other recruiters. You could have came across common notion in recruitment process asking your vision after 5 years down the line or 10 years down the line. No wonder, you will definitely say a convincing or an attractive paradigm. Unless you have that vision and grit those recruitment reciting will never be realised and lost in the sea of BAU.
Protecting instincts is the key to the success of the individual in life. Training is the phase where individuals gets prepared for the on job routines, some of us get the glimpse about the picture and are very prone to developing wrong perceptions about the craft. Some gets lucky hiding under the shade of team work crossing the training hurdles and completing the evaluations. Then starts the process of absorbing the candidates in to projects.
No wonder candidates cross this challenge and earns a place in the project ends in the Project experience trauma of getting things done. This is the baking period of the individual, where scope of individual growth and mindset is scripted 90% of the time by the onus of the individuals starting the project, unless the whole team is a new energy.I call these so called scripted fortunes and behaviours as spoil sport for the real growth of the individuals. What would happen is we tend to slowly develop narrow vision. We will have extended conversations on this in subsequent chats.
As a tidbit just want to share on How factor to mould us -->Remember the question that most of us confronted with "what you want to become 5-10 years down the line" one slowly loose the sight of their vision, when they embrace the concept of success. All the professional craft's are at the disposal of customer service preference. If this notion is not connected to the professional grit, then I bet there is a high chance of emotional turbulence . Just treat the whole craft as a long game of 100 year vision, not the immediate wins. There should be pre training rituals prior to the training and this should be a good 6 months period.
